Another Michigan State player has decided to enter the transfer portal. On Tuesday morning, a MSU spokesperson confirmed to Spartans Illustrated that junior offensive lineman Keyshawn Blackstock is officially in the portal.
Blackstock, a four-star junior college prospect, announced his intention to join Michigan State in December of 2022 and enrolled in January 2023. He was the top-rated junior college offensive lineman at the time, and came to East Lansing from Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Blackstock played in four games for the Spartans, so he will preserve his redshirt and retain two years of college eligibility.
The Georgia native appeared in Michigan State's first four games this season, but has not been active for the Spartans' last three contests. He did not start any games, but he played 74 offensive snaps, all at left tackle, according to Pro Football Focus. He did not record a special teams snap.
Michigan State players are currently able to enter the transfer portal due to the firing of Mel Tucker as the program's head football coach on Sept. 27, which opened a 30-day window for current MSU players to submit their names to the portal if they wanted to do so.
Blackstock joins redshirt defensive tackle Simeon Barrow Jr., senior running back Jordon Simmons and junior long snapper Hank Pepper as players who have entered the transfer portal since Tucker was fired. Redshirt junior defensive back Justin White is also no longer with the team.
