Michigan State wide receivers Montorie Foster Jr. and Jaron Glover have both announced that they will return to the Spartans for the 2024 season.
Foster arrived in East Lansing in 2020. He played in all seven of Michigan State’s games in the pandemic-shortened season and even earned a start against Northwestern.
In 2021, he played in all 13 games for the Spartans and earned three starts. He totaled 12 receptions, 164 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown that year.
Foster only played in eight games during the 2022 season due to dealing with a Lisfranc injury. He played with two screws in his foot that season. Despite the injury, he had five receptions for 76 yards and one touchdown.
He had a breakout campaign during the 2023 season. Foster amassed 43 receptions, 576 receiving yards and three touchdowns as a senior. He led the team in receiving yards.
Foster is returning in 2024 for his final year of eligibility. The NCAA granted an extra year of eligibility for all fall 2020 athletes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which Foster will take advantage of next season.
Glover arrived in East Lansing ahead of the 2022 season as a former three-star recruit out of Sarasota, Florida. He didn’t play much in his true freshman season (one game) to preserve his redshirt season.
He followed that up with a solid 2023 season. Glover was the Spartans' fourth-leading receiver in the 2023 season behind Foster, Maliq Carr, who is in the transfer portal, and Tre Mosley.
Glover totaled 14 receptions for 261 receiving yards as a redshirt freshman this year.
Glover announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal after the 2023 season concluded and he officially entered the portal on Dec. 9.
After receiving interest from multiple programs and after visiting Georgia, Glover decided to withdraw his name from the transfer portal and return to Michigan State.
Foster and Glover will lead a pass-catching unit in 2024 that includes Purdue transfer TJ Sheffield, Alante Brown, Antonio Gates Jr., incoming four-star freshman Nick Marsh and more.
