Michigan State continued its momentum on the recruiting trail for women's basketball on Sunday when it gained the verbal commitment of 2025 guard Jordan Ode. The third player to announce her commitment in the class, Ode did so on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter late Sunday morning local time for her.
Ode is from Maple Grove, Minnesota, a suburb located northwest of Minneapolis, and plays for the UAA club team the Minnesota Fury in addition to Maple Grove High School.
As a sophomore last season, Ode averaged 19 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals per game while garnering all-state honors and setting the Maple Grove single season scoring record. She also qualified for states in cross country as a freshman, earning all-conference honors.
Ode ranks No. 29 in the AAU 2025 national Junior All-Star rankings and No. 41 in the ESPN 2025 HoopGurlz recruiting super 60 rankings while grading out as a four-star with a 94 scout grade. She is listed as 5-foot-11 and is in her third season playing with the Fury on the AUU circuit as a combo guard.
Ode joins Amy and Anna Terrian in the 2025 class. The two point guard twins from Wisconsin announced their verbal commitments to MSU last month.
The Spartans beat out fellow Big Ten programs Illinois, Penn State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Maryland for Ode's commitment. Nationally, Ode also chose MSU over offers from Colorado, Utah, Marquette, Iowa State, Boston College, Creighton, Kansas, Providence, Auburn, and Harvard, among others.
As for the Spartans, the team begins its first season under new head coach Robyn Fralick on Nov. 8 when Oakland visits the Breslin Center. Prior to that matchup, MSU will host Davenport for an exhibition matchup in East Lansing on Nov. 2. Both games will be streamed on B1G+.
