Michigan State starts its second week of baseball against the Indiana State Sycamores out of the Missouri Valley Conference on Friday at noon Eastern Time.

The Spartans are coming off a 1-3 start last weekend with the lone win coming against Merrimack in the opener. Indiana State, however has won all four of its games, including an 8-7 win against Louisville.

The Sycamores displayed that they can win a few different ways, including a shutout win against South Florida, the shootout against Louisville, and a 2-1 thriller against UConn.

Indiana State's offense has gotten off to a hot start and it is led by Randal Diaz and Dominic Listi. Diaz comes into Friday's contest with a .400 batting average and a .926 OPS with three runs scored. Listi, however, is hitting .364 with a 1.133 OPS and seven runs scored.

Michigan State is led offensively by Nick Williams and Jake Dresselhouse. WIlliams comes into Friday's action with a .400 batting average and a .500 on-base percentage. As for Dresselhouse, he comes in with a .333 average but with a slugging percentage of .533.

Pitchers Luke Hayden and Jacob Pruitt for Indiana State put on a pitching clinic last week, as both posted zero ERAs after going six innings and both gave up just four hits.

As for the Spartan pitchers, they will rely on another solid performance from Joseph Dzierwa on Friday. Expect the Spartans to show more fight against the undefeated Sycamores.
