Michigan State will host 2024 three-star quarterback Danny O’Neil for a visit on March 14. O’Neil, who currently attends Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, will meet with coaches, take in a spring practice and spend the day at MSU.

This will be O’Neil’s second trip to East Lansing. He last came to Michigan State for the Spartans’ 2021 home game against Nebraska – a 23-20 overtime victory for MSU.

The talented quarterback prospect has been in contact with Michigan State offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Jay Johnson for quite a while now, since just prior to that Nebraska game in late September of 2021. While O’Neil mentioned that his contact with Johnson has been a bit “off and on,” the communication has started to pick up again in the past few weeks.

“I just know that Coach Johnson runs a really good offense,” O'Neil said when asked what he knew about Michigan State thus far. “They bring in good recruits from all over, and just being a part of that would be pretty special. While I’m up there, (I just want to) get a feel for the rest of the coaching staff and be able to take it all in.”
