Michigan State faced a tough road challenge Saturday when it had to travel to College Park in Week Two for an early conference matchup. The Spartans struggled through turnover trouble and came away with a 27-24 victory over Maryland after showing grit and resilience in late fourth quarter drives.

The Spartans begin the 2024 season with a 2-0 overall record and a 1-0 mark in Big Ten play.

MSU head coach Jonathan Smith had plenty to say about his young team's road performance following the win.
