Spartans score in Ohio ... again

Less than 24 hours after returning home from his first visit to Michigan State, Dublin (Ohio) Coffman High School linebacker Jeslord Boateng committed to the Spartans.

He made the announcement via Twitter, just after 7 p.m. on Monday, stating that it “has always been a dream of mine to play Division I Big Ten football.”

Boateng is ranked the No. 30 player in Ohio and the No. 49 outside linebacker in the country. He is a 5.6 3-star recruit on the Rivals.com scale.

Boating had offers from Iowa, Kentucky, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Minnesota and others.

Michigan State now has commitments from four of the Top 30 players in Ohio, more than any other school at this time.

Boateng joins tight end Trenton Gillison of Pickerington (Ohio) Central, ranked No. 6 in Ohio by Rivals.com, defensive back Xavier Henderson of Pickerington Central (No. 10), and linebacker Michael Dowell of Lakewood St. Edward (No. 16) as Spartan commitments from the Buckeye state.
