Norman (OK) Community Christian four-star defensive end and edge rusher Bai Jobe announced his commitment to Michigan State on Thursday evening. The highly sought-after Rivals150 defensive end says he selected Michigan State over Alabama and Oklahoma, who rounded out his top three.
Jobe held additional offers from Georgia, Texas A&M, Miami (FL), and many more. He officially visited Michigan State and Vanderbilt along with an unofficial visit to Alabama for camp in June.
Jobe is rated the No. 2 overall recruit in Oklahoma and the No. 10 weakside defensive end in the 2023 class.
The four-star announced his commitment via social media:
On June 24, Jobe and his trainer, Sean Cooper of C4 Sports Performance, made the trip to East Lansing for an official visit which seems to have sealed the deal. Shortly after the visit, Jobe announced a top three along with a hint of a commitment coming soon.
Cooper has a strong relationship with Michigan State's pass rush coach Brandon Jordan, whom he has known for more than 10 years.
As for Jobe and Michigan State, the two are a perfect match. Currently standing at 6-foot-4, 220-pounds, Jobe has the frame to add 20 or more pounds and maintain the speed and fluidity of his game.
Moving to America from West Africa in the eighth grade, Jobe didnβt begin playing football until his freshman year of high school. A prospect who can turn the corner and close with speed off the edge, Jobe has a high ceiling as a pass rusher.
Jobe is the 11th commitment in Michigan State's 2023 class. He joins Pleasant Valley (IA) High Andrew Depaepe as the second four-star defensive end in the class and the seventh four-star overall.
