VIDEO: Spartans 1 For Ohio Safety

Michigan State has landed some outstanding prospects from the state of Ohio the last few years, especially in the defensive backfield. This year the staff is back in the Buckeye State eyeing up talent for the class of 2006. One player who has made it known that Michigan State is where he would like to be is Jordan Gafford of Worthington Kilbourne High School. The Columbus product already has six scholarship offers on the table. A Michigan State offer could very well end the process for this top prospect.

Gafford recently told Rivals.com the following:

"They run a 4-2-5 shell, and I would fit in real well with that. The campus is beautiful and the coaches are great. Coach Smeland is great and I like Coach (Doug) Nussmeier and Coach Smith a lot. The campus has a good feeling to it. The stadium is awesome and I heard the fans are crazy about Spartan football. It's in the Big Ten. It's close. They just have everything that I want in a college.

I love everything about Michigan State. Plus, I'd rather get the process over with before the season starts so I can have fun in my final season…….. "I think I would (commit if offered)"

Gafford currently holds offers from Indiana, Cincinatti, Marshall, Miami (OH), Kent State and La Tech. He is rated the #43 player in Ohio for the class of 2006.
