Based on recruiting rankings it would seem as if Michigan State made out alright in the deal. However, when you consider the offers Reed had on the table compared to Jones. It seems as if Michigan State made out very well in this situation.

Reed played for Coffeyville Community College last year. He helped lead Coffeyville to a 10-2 record and a final ranking of #3 in the nation. For the season, Reed caught 26 passes for 593 yards and scored eight touchdowns.

Reed originally signed with Texas A&M back in February, but a credit hang-up caused him to open his recruitment back up. Spartan Michigan State Dave Baldwin wasted no time seeing if Reed could join the Spartan attack.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Reed runs the 40 yard dash in an impressive 4.4 seconds. According to our data, Reed will arrive at Michigan State with 3 years to play 2. Reed is originally from Miami, Florida.
