Video: Robertson Runs Them Over

L.J. Robertson of Sterling Heights Stevenson High School is arguably the top running back prospect in Michigan for the class of 2006. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Robertson rushed for over 2000 yards and scored 26 touchdowns as a junior.
SpartanMag.com has learned that Michigan State Coach Doug Nussmeier was at Sterling Heights Stevenson High School this week to meet with the head coach during the spring evaluation period.

Robertson informed SpartanMag.com that he would be attending the NIKE Combine in Ann Arbor on May 7th.
The big question on Robertson is his speed. He has been putting up solid track times this spring. He recently clocked an 11.0 100-Meters. Keep in mind, 100-Meter times in Michigan in April are always slower than kids who run in Florida in 80 degree weather. In addition, Robertson has already qualified for the Regionals with a 22.1 200-Meters and 21'6 long jump.
As far as a runner, Robertson reminds SpartanMag.com of former Michigan high school All-Star and Northwestern Wildcat running back Noah Herron. Herron was not offered by the Spartans (MSU signed Tyell Dortch that year) or Wolverines, but went on to star at Northwestern and was drafted by the NFL last week.
Robertson will be one of several in-state prospects who will be looking to impress the college coaches on hand at the NIKE Camp. SpartanMag.com will be at the camp and will be sure to speak with Robertson there.
