VIDEO: LB Patilla Packs a Punch

Quintin Patilla of Flint Carman-Ainsworth High School is listed as a wide receiver in the Rivals.com database, but it is the linebacker position where he will likely make his mark as a Division 1 football player.

SpartanMag.com spoke with Patilla recently and he informed us that he will be attending the Spartan Summer Camp next week. Patilla informed us that he hopes a strong performance will earn him an offer from Coach John L. Smith.

SpartanMag.com watched Patilla closely at the NIKE Camp in Ann Arbor. Even though he was working out as a wide receiver, what struck us about Patilla was his frame and work ethic. Patilla was going full tilt in every drill, pushing himself to become a better player.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Patilla has a great frame. He will easily be able to add the size necessary to play linebacker in college.

Patilla recently camped at Indiana and walked away with an offer from the Hoosiers. Linebacker is one of the more important needs for the class of 2006. You can be sure that linebacker coach Mike Cox will be closely evaluating Patilla throughout his stay.

SpartanMag.com will be speaking with Patilla as soon as he returns from the Michigan State Camp.
