MADISON - Michigan State snapped Wisconsin's 21-game home winning streak with a 16-13 overtime victory and in the process snapped its own hard-luck streak of close losses.
The Spartans clinched the victory with a gritty performance by a defense that limited Wisconsin to 19 net rushing yards.
The Andrew Maxwell-led Spartan offense forced overtime with a 12-play 75-yard fourth quarter drive capped off by a 5-yard touchdown pass from Maxwell to Le'Veon Bell. Maxwell sealed the victory with a 12-yard touchdown pass to Bennie Fowler on third-and-8.
