SPRING SPOTLIGHT: Connor Cook

Connor Cook knew to be ready, that's the life of a No.2 quarterback. But Tuesday afternoon when the Spartans took the field for their 10th practice, all eyes were on him. That's the life of a No.1 quarterback.

Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio informed media on Tuesday that starting quarterback Andrew Maxwell sprained his knee in last weekend's scrimmage. While Dantonio said that the injury was not severe and would not require surgery, it was unclear whether it would keep Maxwell from returning quickly or playing the spring game on April 28.
The good news according to Dantonio, was the opportunity for Connor Cook - the redshirt freshman from Ohio - to get a healthy dose of snaps and experience as the No.1 quarterback until Maxwell's return.
See how Cook is dealing with his sudden new role in this week's SPRING SPOTLIGHT.
