MSU Still Trying To Attract Schiccatano

Reports say Nate Schiccatano plans on making a choice by Monday. He is listing several teams, including MSU. The interesting thing is he has not officially visited MSU, and they are the one team that not only has been recruiting him very hard since May, but also has the least amount of depth at the TB position. MSU invited Schiccatano to visit this weekend, but it's unclear whether Schiccatano will take a look.
Rumors around the internet have Nate going to Iowa or ND. Oregon apparently views him as a H-Back, and PSU decided that Tim Shaw had a bigger upside as a TB. In addition, Brandon Snow to PSU rumors were floating around earlier this week, Snow says he is down to Miami and Penn State. He also says that PSU wants him as a TB not FB. Throw in Donnie Johnson and Chris Wilson and PSU is stacked.

Could Schiccatano's recruitment be similiar to Jeff Smoker? Maybe a visit to MSU to hang with Smoker and the other Spartan players would help him make his choice.
Nate told Spartan Magazine earlier in the recruiting process that #22 was a family number. We checked and it appears that #22 is there for the taking. No doubt Spartan fans would love to see a #22 running out of the tunnel next season.
We will try to catch up with Nate later tonight. MSU could use another RB to add to the mix. With only 1 RB on scholarship(a Juco signee last year who has never carried the ball and doesn't figure in the mix) the chance is there for two players to get reps right away. Some have speculated that Schiccatano doesn't want to come to MSU because of David Richard. I am sure David would appreciate the company. He is a team player who is used to playing with talented players.
The pieces are in place for a RB like Schiccatano to make some noise right away. The Spartans need 2 freshmen RB's to work their way into the rotation immediately. With the entire OL returning essentially for the next 2 year, RB's should have plenty of holes to choose from!
David Richard and Nate were at the All-State game in Texas, the two could team up to be a monster backfield. In fact, if Schiccatano did decide on MSU it would give MSU possibly the the best backfield in the nation.
