Michigan State-bound forward Jaren Jackson (6-11) moved up five spots from No. 15 to No. 10 in the latest revision of the 2017 Rivals150 basketball recruiting rankings, which were released on Wednesday.

"Jackson continues to find a balance between using his size to be a low post scorer and his desire to play facing the hoop," Rivals.com national recruiting analyst Eric Bossi said. "I remember watching Chris Bosh at the same age and while it isn't a perfect comparison, I remember watching him get better as he went through the same things and found a better balance between what he wanted to do and what his team need him to do."

As one of the youngest players in the 2017 Rivals150, Jackson possesses tremendous upside in comparison to some of players in his peer group.

"We try not to factor things like age into the equation too much because you can never really know if a recently turned 19 year old has matured more than somebody who will turn 18 in two weeks," Bossi said. "However, Given that Jackson won't turn 18 until September of 2017 he's really on the extreme when it comes to being quite young for the class. He's developed so much in the last year that we can't help but feel he's still got a huge ceiling for improvement."

Jackson has been a double-double machine for prep-school powerhouse La Lumiere during his senior season, which climbed to No. 1 in the US Today High School rankings following a recent victory over previously No. 1 Findlay Prep.

Jackson led La Lumiere with 27 points and 17 rebounds in that statement victory over Findlay Prep in the Cancer Research Classic.

Jackson's future Michigan State teammate Xavier Tillman checks in as the No. 86 overall prospect in the latest Rivals150. His position is unchanged.

Michigan State recruiting targets Brandon McCoy (No. 15) and Brian Bowen (No. 19) among the 26 five-star prospects in the Class of 2017.
