Florida CB Gabe Nealy is ready to take a virtual visit to MSU today

Not many guys that are 6-foot-4 can play on an island at cornerback.

Gabe Nealy is not many guys, he plays corner for powerhouse Gulliver Prep in Miami, FL and the Spartan coaches envision him doing the same thing in East Lansing.

The Spartans offered Nealy on March 26 and made a huge impression on him when head coach Mel Tucker personally called to offer.

At the time of the offer, Nealy sang high praise for the coaches and Michigan State program.

"This offer means a lot to me not even going to sugarcoat it because the head coach himself offered me. What really excites me about Michigan State is their coaching staff.

Beyond coach Tucker, he was able to speak with a few other coaches on the defensive side of the ball.

"Coach (Harlon) Barnett when we first got on the phone he was extremely excited and amped up about me and I can tell he really cares and he loves my game and really wants to develop me as a person and player. Coach Tucker everyone knows about coach Tucker he’s one of the best in the game coming from Colorado and I feel like he brings a lot to the table and the program and he’s going to turn this team into a National Championship winning team."

"The Defensive Coordinator (Scottie) Hazelton also reached out, telling me how excited he was about me so I can really tell that this is a loving, family environment and that these coaches are dedicated to getting you in that Green & White and turning you into a superstar."

After receiving the offer from Michigan State he named them in his top 6 four days later. Joining the Spartans in his top 6 are Miami, ECU, Nebraska, Louisville, and Cincinnati.

I spoke with Nealy a couple of days ago and he told me he talks to the Michigan State coaches every day. He also said that he was getting close to a decision, and could make a commitment at any time.

Today Nealy will be taking a visit to Michigan State virtually. On the visit, he will get a chance to talk to Spartan coaches and academic advisors as well as see a slide show and some videos of everything Michigan State has to offer.

Michigan State recently added their first two commitments in the 2021 class earlier this week with in-state prospects Davion Primm and Ethan Boyd.

Following the visit today the Spartan coaches hope to make Nealy their first commitment from outside the state.
