DB Kenney Lyke to enroll early, talks Dantonio Visit

Fremd (Ill.) senior defensive back Kenney Lyke will be on campus before you know it.
"I decided to enroll in school early just to get ahead both academically and athletically. I think that it gives me a greater chance to get in and learn the system and play early," Lyke said.

Lyke is fresh off a visit from Spartans head coach Mark Dantonio who came out to see him while in school and then dropped by his house to see his family before heading out of town.
"He came to my school for 30-40 minutes then he went to my house to see my family," Lyke said.
He added, "It was really good actually. He's a busy man."
Lyke enjoys that his family is close enough with his future head coach to spend some time with him.
"They said that they were having general conversation and he was letting them know how everything is going to work by me going into school early," Lyke said.
Lately, Lyke has been around the program quite a bit, and is fresh off his official visit to East Lansing.
"My host was Vayante Copeland. I enjoyed that I got to see where I will be staying for a year and my schedule for classes and how life will be in East Lansing," Lyke said. "I spent a lot of time with LJ Scott, Madre London, Malik McDowell and Vayante."
Overall, the official visit couldn't have been better.
"It was great, everything was just how I expected. All the coaches and players have really bought in and I can't wait to get up there," Lyke said.
Lyke enrolls in early January, and knows that it is a great time to be joining the team.
"If they win a national championship, and I get to go into school after that, that would just be insane," Lyke said.
