A few weeks ago SpartanMag.com informed Michigan State fans that Joe Boisture would no longer be playing football for Michigan State University. Many speculated about the reason why Boisture was leaving and even had theories on his future. Boisture remained quiet on the situation until he was ready to provide some details.
SpartanMag.com received the following correspondence from Boisture earlier tonight:
I met with Dr. Winkelpleck, MSU's spine surgeon the other day. After meeting with him I have decided to hang up my cleats. The doctor recommended that I have surgery if I wanted to continue to play football with rehab lasting a year. I have been fighting my back problem for over two years and have known for a while that it may come down to this but wanted to hear it from the doctors one last time. I will miss football but am moving on to other things. I will be doing an internship for the next few years as a student at State. Michigan State football has been a great experience and I can't thank Coach Dantonio and the medical staff enough for everything they have done for me.
