A Green Identity

EAST LANSING - Following their 89-54 stomping of UMKC, head coach Tom Izzo finds himself increasingly fond of this team.
Reason No.1: The hugely unselfish play of the Spartans. MSU had 25 assists on 35 baskets Monday night against the Roos.

Reason No.2 (and the reason there's hope swelling around the Breslin center): This team is starting to form an identity, and that identity is coming directly from their leader, Draymond Green.
"I said as much as I love and respect some of the great players that have been here before, it is time that we get another identity," Izzo said. "We had an identity in 2000. Seems like we had an identity with K.T. (Kelvin Torbert) and Timmy Bograkos and those guys in 2005. Travis gave us one in 2009.
"I told him before the game, this should be Day Day's team. He's worked harder than he ever has in practice this year. He has a good feel for the team. That's something we haven't had since Mateen left."
