2023 three-star QB Bo Edmundson made his first trip to Michigan State on Saturday. Michigan State offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Jay Johnson visited the quarterback at Lake Travis High School in Austin, Texas earlier this month.

Edmundson holds additional offers from Houston, Kentucky, Colorado, Penn State, Utah, and more.

"I flew in on Friday night to Detroit and drove up to East Lansing. We actually went straight to the facilities," Edmundson said. "It was a quick 30 minute trip Friday night to meet with Coach Johnson and check out the facilities real quick, Saturday was the real thing where we saw everything else."

Friday evening the Edmundson family got to sit down and meet Jay Johnson for the first time extensively.

"My parents had never met him before, they had only talked to him on FaceTime. I had only talked to him a little bit when he had stopped through my school. Due to the rules those were short conversations. I had a little tour where I saw the football offices and the weight room."

On Saturday morning, Edmundson woke up and was right back in the facilities making the most of his trip to East Lansing.

"I woke up and we went straight into it. There were team room meetings and individual meetings with the coaches. I met with Coach Tucker which was awesome."

Edmundson spent most of his time meeting with Jay Johnson.

"He was just getting into the expectations for me and how they play quarterback at Michigan State. It was nice to see what I am going to get into because you can't go into a school blind," Edmundson said. "It was awesome. I really like Coach Johnson. He is a really good dude. Everyone I have asked, not even from Michigan State, I know my former high school offensive coordinator (Will Stein) was a quarterback at Louisville while coach Johnson was an off-the-field assistant and he had great things to say about him."

Edmundson also met with Mel Tucker before the basketball game.

"That was another good meeting. The thing that I liked was he just explained how much the culture had changed since he got there and that being a reason for success. He just talked about keeping that culture. That is what wins ball games."

After meeting with the coaches, Edmundson attended the basketball game where he sat with Jay Johnson.

"It was really cool to see the basketball game and take in the atmosphere of another sport. Everyone in the arena was super into it that was fun to see. "

Outside of the coaching staff, the campus also impressed the Texas quarterback.

"I love the campus. It was big, but it seems easy to get around. Also the weather was not as bad as I thought it would be."

Edmundson and his family will return to Michigan State on Sunday morning to have one last meeting with the coaching staff and watch some film.

"I am excited to talk ball. That is what I like to do so I am looking forward to that with Coach Johnson."

Edmundson visited TCU earlier this month.

"I really like TCU," Edmundson said. "I know Coach Riley and Coach Dykes from SMU. It is cool to see them at a new place. I don't hold an offer yet but they have been by my school and plan to come back in the spring."

Edmundson tells SpartanMag.com that he will visit Northwestern in March and hopes to return to Michigan State for spring ball as well.
