Four-star picks Mizzou

Mizzou's recruitment of 2014 four star shooting guard Namon Wright escalated quickly. It was just a few weeks ago that the Tiger coaches checked in on him while out in California. Then a Missouri offer was extended and an official visit was set up for this weekend.

"Now I'm a Tiger," the 87 ranked player in the 2014 Rivals150 said.

According to Wright he was blown away on his visit and knew quickly that Missouri was the place for him.

"I don't know where to start. Players that come in and go through their program get better and they track all that improvement. I feel like Missouri will make me a better basketball player. The best player I can be," explained Wright. "They have a great strength program and it's tailored to basketball. Lot of schools just have strength programs that aren't sport specific, so that was a big deal."

"Coach [Frank] Haith is a genuine and honest guy. I feel like he will help me really develop my game," he continued. "And then academics. They have great academic support. They make it so there is almost no way to do poorly if you just stick to your academic plan."

Wright, who plays his prep ball at Pacific Hills High School in Los Angeles, picked the Tigers over offers from Arizona State, Florida State, Gonzaga, Oregon and USC. Wright said that he is done with visits and is 100% committed to Mizzou. He added that he is definitely planning to sign in the early period.

The commitment of Wright coincided with the decommitment of fellow Californian Chris Sandifer, which was reported by Alex Kline. That means the Tigers will stay at two current members for the class of 2014, with Wright joining Jakeenan Gant.

PowerMizzou.com will have more on Wright's commitment and what it means for Mizzou basketball recruiting moving forward.
