Bailey content to wait out the process
According to Bailey, he hasn't been hearing from the Wildcats as much, but the interest on his end is still there.
"I don't hear from them too much," Bailey told GOAZCATS.com earlier this week at the Jim Harris Memorial Tournament of Champions. "I see them (Arizona) around a little bit, but haven't heard too much."
As for his thoughts on why UA appeals to him, Bailey said he's been a fan of the program since the beginning of his high school career. He also echoed what many Arizona recruits like about the school: The energy McKale Center offers.
"I've liked Arizona ever since I was in ninth grade," he said. "It looks like they have a great atmosphere, and (it looks) like a great place to play basketball, and to be a student."
Bailey said while he had a few teams on his trail, recruiting picked up over this past summer, and that he's looking forward to what teams get into the mix as this season progresses and again over next summer.
It's going really well," he said of his recruitment. "It picked up a lot this summer; I have another summer on top of that, so it should pick up even more."
The 6-foot-5 170-pound junior gave GOAZCATS.com a list of which teams are pursuing him the most, but UA was not mentioned.
As of now, Bailey has two offers, one from UNLV, and one from a team that was not mentioned, San Diego State.
Bailey has led Compton to two victories in the Tournament of Champions at Ocean View High in Huntington Beach, Calif. - including a 30-point performance in a 66-60 win Wednesday night over Encino (Calif.) Crespi.
Compton will play Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei Friday night at 9 p.m. PST in a Tournament of Champions semifinal game.
