Brown keeping his options open
Martin Luther King High School running back Mack Brown is one of the top players in the 2010 recruiting class and a lot of teams including Georgia Tech have their sights set on the five-foot-ten 185-pound back. Jacketsonline caught up with Brown to an update on where he stands with the Yellow Jackets and when he plans to commit.
How is spring practice going so far?
"It's going really good. We have some really good players on our team. I think we'll have a really good team this year."
What do you feel your strengths are as a running back?
"I run between the tackles the best and my speed is really good."
What are the most important things you look for in a school?
"The coaching staff is the most important thing. Is the coaching staff going to be there the whole time I am there? That's the biggest thing for me."
Do you have a time frame in mind of when you are going to commit to a school?
"Yeah, I am going to commit sometime this summer. Most likely towards the end of the summer, that's when I'll know."
Do you have any visits or camps set up for this summer?
"I plan on going to the Georgia Tech camp on June 13th. Ill have some unofficial visits set up later this summer."
What is your relationship like with the Georgia Tech coaching staff?
"It's a really good one. I actually talked to Head Coach Paul Johnson last week and we had a good talk. I also talk to Coach BJ all the time."
What stands out to you the most about Georgia Tech?
"It's Georgia Tech. At Tech they are going to run the ball, I know that."
What schools have been out to see you the past couple of weeks at Spring Practice?
"Georgia Tech, Miami, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Michigan, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Oregon."
Do you have any leaders at this point?
"No sir, I am pretty wide open right now."
