Serra QB lighting it up

Three-star quarterback Ted Landers (6-4, 194, 4.8) from Gardena (Calif.) Serra has lead his team to a perfect 8-0 start and has been able to spread the ball around utilizing his teams vast array of weapons.

"Ted has been ridiculous for us," Serra head coach Scott Altenberg said. "He has 20 touchdown passes and only two interceptions."

"Just last game, Ted was 11-12 for 261 yards and four touchdowns," Landers said. "His stats would be larger, but he doesn't get a chance to play much in the second half, because the game is in hand."

In eight games, Landers has hit on 82 passes out of 120 attempts for 1,338 yards completing 68.3 percent of passes.

Landers is very humble with his personal success and is focused more on the team than him.

"My senior year is going really good, my team is doing really well," Landers said. "We're 6-0 and everybody is working hard. It looks like we have a great chance of taking it all the way."

"I definitely want to be league champs; we'll need to defend that from last year," Landers said. "Hopefully we'll make it though playoffs and win a championship game. Our ultimate goal is a state championship.
