Spartans land Ohio speedster

On Friday SpartanMag.ocm came out with our updated Hot List of top prospect that Michigan State was after for the class of 2009. It did not take long for Coach Mark Dantonio and his staff to add one of the players from that impressive list of prospects to the commitment list. The newest member of the Spartan family brings a lot of speed and ability to the table.

SpartanMag.com has learned that Ohio wide receiver Patrick White of Pickerington Central High School in Ohio has committed to Michigan State University. White informed SpartanMag.com that he was "very excited" to be joining the Green and White.

White selected Michigan State over a host of offers including schools like Oregon, Louisville, Kansas, Indiana and Cincinnati. The 6-foot-0, 175 pound what had close to 15 offers in total.

White saw his stock skyrocket this spring. He stood out at the Columbus NIKE Combine, being named one of the top performers there.

SpartanMag.com will have much more on the newest member of the Green and White later this evening. The commitment of White to Michigan State gives the Spartans a total of seven high-level prospects that will be playing their football in East Lansing next fall.

Rivals.com will be unveiling their updated rankings this coming week. White has a chance to be one of the players who makes a move up the rankings at his position.
