Brandon Thompson has been on three official visits to LSU, Georgia Tech and Ohio State. One stuck out more than the rest.

"Georgia Tech was the most fun," Thompson told Tigerillustrated.com Sunday evening. "They really rolled it all out."

The 6-foot-2, 280-pound defensive tackle, regarded as the nation's No. 7 recruit at the position by Rivals.com, now has his official visit date set for Clemson, too.

"I'm going up there for their banquet on January 11 through the 13th," he noted.

What does the four-star recruit think of the Tigers and the rest of the contenders?

Clemson - "(Tight ends) coach (Billy) Napier tells me really that I'm the man. They want me to finish up their defensive line class. After I commit they would be done with defensive linemen."

LSU - "It was cool. The fans, the stadium, how it rocked, it's the loudest stadium I've been to. Coach (Les) Miles is a cool guy. Glen Dorsey is cool and great to be around."
