Boyd plans to visit Louisville

Three-star defensive tackle Javonta Boyd of Northeast H.S. in St. Petersburg, Fla., has helped lead his team to a 5-3 record this season, and they are hoping to gain entry into the playoffs with a win this Friday. The 6-foot-3, 290-pound prospect told he knows of a few teams he will visit...

The No. 22 defensive end in the class of 2008 and No. 39 prospect in the Florida Top 100, Boyd said he can definitely see some improvement in his game this season over a year ago. "I'm doing better than I thought I would this year," he said. "I have a lot of sacks this year."

Boyd said he continues to be recruited by all of the schools on his recruiting list, a group that includes, Cincinnati, Clemson, Georgia, South Carolina, South Florida, Ole Miss and Rutgers, along with Louisville.

"It's a good program," Boyd commented about the Cardinals. "I'm going to visit there, but I have to talk to them and find out when exactly."

Boyd knows of a few others he will visit as well. "I'm know I'm going to visit South Carolina, Georgia, and a couple more," he remarked.

An ACC school offered Boyd recently, becoming his newest suitor. "I got a scholarship from NC State on Friday," he said. "Their coach came down and brought it with him. It was good to have the coach come down and bring the offer himself."

What is Boyd hoping to find when he goes on his visits? "I just want to find good coaches," he answered. "Everybody wants the same thing - there's no 'I' in team. I'm just looking to win."
