Video: Is this 2009 QB tops in GA?

A quarterback has already created a buzz in the Peach State and he just started his junior year. Georgia is not known for producing true pocket passers, but one may be ready to step up and become that next top recruit. He has shined at multiple camps, picked up a big offer and put his name on the map. We traveled over to watch him this summer and he showed touch, arm strength, accuracy and leadership to go with his 6-foot-4, 210-pound frame.

Prospect: Zach Mettenberger

High School: Oconee (Watkinsville, Ga.)

Class: 2009

Position: Quarterback

Vitals: 6-4, 210-pounds

Offers: Florida State

Favorites: Open

The Skinny: Mettenberger lives right outside of Athens and his mother works for the University of Georgia, but he says he is open to everyone. Florida State liked what they saw this summer at camp and offered him before he left. He is getting attention from most top programs in the South and he will likely pick up many more offers this fall.
