Ohio LB high on Cats, wants to visit

With its top playmaker at linebacker entering his final season with the Wildcats, the Kentucky staff is beating the recruiting path for a potential successor to All-SEC selection Wesley Woodyard.

That's something for which Justin Staples is well aware as he works through the recruiting process.

"I hear from coach Chuck Smith a lot and coach (Rich) Brooks keeps up with me in text messages," said the Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward standout. "They really want me to come down there as soon as possible and check things out. They think I can come in and play real early for them and help their defense.

"I like the fact that they've always been high on my ability. They were one of the first schools to offer me a scholarship and show that faith in me as a player, so that means a lot."
