Ohio linebacker to visit NU this month

It's no secret one of the areas of need for Nebraska in the current recruiting class is linebacker and the coaches are honed in on and hope to sign multiple prospects for those positions. One player, Doug Rippy from Columbus (Ohio) Linden-McKinley, appears to be in that mold, and the NU coaches have extended him an offer. They also appear to be the early leader for the 6-foot-2, 218-pound prospect.

Rippy has Nebraska as his leading school at the moment, followed by Illinois, Michigan State, Cincinnati and Akron, who have all also offered. He's made several camp appearances and is about to embark on his second leg of tours in the next two weeks. He hopes to announce his decision before the start of his senior year in high school.
