Ashley looking in his own backyard
Cincinnati prep tailback Darius Ashley has seen the evolution of the University of Cincinnati football program. Living in the same city as the Bearcats, he's seen people's attitudes and interest elevate with the addition of new head coach Brian Kelly and his staff and now the 5-8, 185-pound prospect is looking at the possibility of continuing his football career in his own hometown.
A standout at Cincinnati's St. Xavier High School, Ashley rushed for 1,633 yards and 28 touchdowns as a junior. That production has yielded scholarship offers from Northwestern, Akron, Cincinnati, Miami, Virginia, West Virginia and Indiana. The Bearcats offer came early and they have his attention.
