Top running back in Ohio hears from Spartans

New Michigan State Head Coach Mark Dantonio will be recruiting his home state of Ohio very hard this year. One of the players the staff has been in contact with and is looking to have on campus soon is running back Isaiah Pead of Columbus Eastmoor Academy. SpartanMag.com spoke with Pead last night and we have some details about his recruitment.

Last year the state of Ohio was loaded with running back prospect and the in-state Buckeyes stocked up at that position with top prospects Brandon Saine and Daniel Herron. That means that a running back prospect like Pead, will likely be looking elsewhere if he wants to run the ball in the Big Ten.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Pead already holds scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Miami of Ohio and Akron. He stated that he believes that Pittsburgh, Boston College and Kent State are very close to offering him.
