DotComp: Izzo needs leaders to rip teammates

EAST LANSING - My four main takeaways from Michigan State's 72-68 victory over Ohio State at Breslin Center:

1. Tom Izzo loved the character and toughness demonstrated by seniors Keith Appling Adreian Payne during Tuesday's victory over previously unbeaten Ohio State at Breslin Center. But eventually, he is probably going to need more from them - and I'm not talking about on-the-court contributions.

Izzo is peeved and puzzled by the continued foggy on-court behavior of Branden Dawson Denzel Valentine.

With Payne questionable due to a sprained foot, Izzo met with Dawson and said this was a great chance for Dawson to rise up, do extra and be a take-control star in Payne's absence. Instead, Dawson wilted from the moment. He didn't rebound well and he messed up some routine defensive assignments.
