As we hinted at over the weekend as a strong possibility, one of the top cornerbacks in the nation has set his announcement date. Four-star Voorhees (N.J.) Eastern Regional product Eli Woodard will make his college choice this week. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect was recently named the No. 28 ranked player in the nation by Rivals.com and on Monday evening he informed BuckeyeGrove.com that he will be ending the process in the very near future.

"The announcement is going to be at Thursday at 4 PM (eastern time)," said Woodard. "The announcement is going to be over the internet, nothing fancy. My family and I have decided to keep the announcement simple out of respect for all of the schools that have spent their valuable time recruiting me."

According to Woodard, it is simply just time to end the process after making several unofficial visits as well as several camp appearances during his sophomore and junior years.

"At this point, I'm just ready to end my recruitment," he said. "I have a tremendous amount of respect for the programs that have offered but it's clear where I want to play my college football."

The lockdown defender has accumulated 15 offers to this point from some of the premier programs in the nation and says his decision will come down to three schools.

"It's really come down to Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Rutgers," he explained. "I have been able to see all of these schools in-person and those are the three schools that I have developed the greatest comfort level with during the recruiting process."

Woodard's announcement comes on the heels of a four-day unofficial visit to Ohio State that he took over the weekend.

Stay tuned to BuckeyeGrove.com for more coverage of Woodard's decision later this week.
