Spartans being selective

With only a few spots left for the class of 2012, Michigan State is being very selective about the players they are actively recruiting. SpartanMag.com has the latest information on some of the players that are high on the priority list.

SpartanMag.com looks at 5 players that are high on the priority list and any one of them could very well be one of the last few pieces to class of 2012 class. The Spartans already have an impressive group of commitments; any of the players below would only enhance what is already an outstanding class.

  • DB Ezra Robinson of Sarasota Booker High School, Florida

Robinson is schedule to take his official visit to Michigan State the weekend of October 22nd. The Spartan will be hosting Wisconsin that Saturday. Robinson has an impressive list of scholarship and the visit to East Lansing will be his first. Robinson has indicated that he wants to get away from home. If the Spartans decide to push for a commitment, they could have a great chance of landing Robinson.

  • DB Jordan Diggs of Island Coast High School, Florida

We heard from Robinson that Diggs could be on the visit with him. That looks like it will be the case as Diggs informed Husker Illustrated that he is planning on checking out Michigan State for the Wisconsin game. Diggs has stated that he is not in a big hurry to make his choice. He will almost certainly take a visit to South Carolina before he does anything his dad played for the Gamecocks. His brother, Jeremy Ware, played for both South Carolina and Michigan State.

  • DE Adolphus Washington of Cincinnati Taft High School

Washington is expected to be on an official visit this coming weekend, the 15th. The bizarre aspect is that Washington has a game Saturday night and would not be able to come up to East Lansing until Sunday. Usually Sunday-Monday visits do not occur unless sit is late in the process. This may be a case of the Spartans just want to get Washington on campus and could care less what day(s) he comes. He will miss the game day atmosphere and the accompanying social aspects that go with it, but he can always come back up unofficially to enjoy that if he wishes.

  • DB Demetrious Cox of Jeannette High School, Pennsylvania

Cox confirmed with SpartanMag.com that he will be in East Lansing this weekend for the Michigan game. Cox is one of the top uncommitted players in the Midwest. Cox has been to see Penn state on several occasions, but this will give him a chance to experience Spartan Stadium. In addition to Penn state, Ohio state and Pittsburgh are also active involved. Coach Mark Staten serves as his primary recruiter.

  • WR Monty Madaris of Cincinnati Moeller High School

SpartanMag.com spoke with Rivals.com analyst Andrew Force and he informed us that Madaris informed him that he definitely plans on taking official visits to Michigan State and Florida State. Spartanmag.com has state on several occasions that Madaris is the closest thing we have seen to a B.J. Cunningham type of wide receiver for the class of 2012. He is a big, physical wide receiver with exceptional hands.
