Signee academic update II

Over their first five recruiting cycles while at Florida, Urban Meyer and staff have done an extraordinary job in not only recruiting top classes year in and year out, but in actually making sure that those they have signed, are eligible to enroll at UF. Heading into the 2010 recruiting cycle, of the 111 prospects UF has signed over the course of the Meyer era, only two (Brian Ellis and Dee Finley) were unable to qualify to enroll at Florida as freshmen.

Finley attended prep school for a year and resigned with the Gators the following year, leaving only Ellis as the lone signee who never made it to campus.

Meaning 99.1 percent of those signed by Meyer and staff made it to Gainesville.

This year, with 11 early enrollees already enrolled and on campus, there are 17 signees who have yet to arrive. Of that 17, there are still a few who have some hurdles to overcome before they are cleared for eligibility.

Today, in Part II of the Signee academic status report, takes a closer look at where seven of the remaining 17 signees stand academically.

Late last week Part I was posted.
