Future Spartans talk official visits
This past weekend Head Coach Mark Dantonio hosted the majority of the committed prospects for the class of 2013 on official visits. SpartanMag.com has been able to catch up with many of them and got their impressions of weekend and what stood out to them. Found out the details.
TE Dylan Chmura of Waukesha West High School in Wisconsin
"My host was Tyler O'Connor. The highlight was getting to meet a bunch on new people and develop friendships with them. I didn't want to leave so soon. The coaches told me I have a great opportunity to make an impact very soon."
DE Demetrius Cooper of Chicago Julian High School in Illinois
"LT (Lawrence Thomas) was my host. The one thing I will remember forever about this trip is that I will never experience anything like that ever again so I enjoyed every second! Words can't express how i felt about the trip,.i never had that much fun with a group of guys in just 2 days...this is some I'll remember forever. I did not want to leave wanted to leave. Coach Dantonio said that this is just the beginning, be ready to work hard and that I will always bleed Green."
WR Jay Harris of Downingtown East High School in Pennsylvania
"Brandon Clemons was my host. I will remember how all the players in my class bonded so well from the first time we met each other and the players already treat us like brothers. It is one big family and I love it. Words can't explain how much I liked my trip. Michigan State is truly an amazing place. Coach Dantonio said that he is going to treat me and the players as if we were his son. That means a lot to me because it shows how much he cares about us as players and young men.
RB Gerald Holmes of Flint Carman-Ainsworth High School, Michigan
Mark Myers was my host. The best part for me was meeting a group of people who will be new family. I enjoyed everything about the trip, it was amazing. The coaches important thing the coaches told me was "Be ready".
LB Shane Jones of Archbishop Moeller High School in Ohio
"My host was Taiwan Jones. What I will remember most is just spending time with my new teammates. Words can't describe how much I enjoyed this weekend. It was a great time being around my new family. Coach Dantonio told us that we are coming in at a great time and that we will win championships."
WR Trey Kilgore of St. Xavier High School in Ohio
"My host was Monty Madaris. The team camaraderie and how the players are so close. I've never felt so close to people I've just me. Everyone is hungry and wanting to compete. Everything was great. Coach Dantonio was telling me it looks like I have a chip on my shoulder and he likes that. I want them to see, a player that's determined and is never satisfied."
QB Damion Terry of Erie Cathedral Prep High School, Pennsylvania
"Aaron Burbridge, was my host. It was the first time me being around every Spartan commit it was very special. Everyone started clicking and liked each other. I can't explain how much fun I had, I had the time of my life!"
