Swenson Named 2009 MVP

EAST LANSING - With 1:51 left on the clock in West Lafayette, Brett Swenson kicked more than a game-winning field goal. The senior, who had already kicked two career-long 52-yarders earlier in the game, helped Michigan State become bowl eligible for the third year in a row. Sunday night, at the Spartan Football Awards Banquet, MSU named Swenson team MVP. It is the first time in the 79-year history of the award that a placekicker has been named team MVP.
