Iowa lands second commit today
Iowa's recruiting is heating up and today really got going with not one, but two verbal commitments. The latest player to jump on board is Cleveland Glenville prospect Jermil Martin, who gave the news to the coaches today after making an official visit to Iowa City this past weekend.
The 6-foot-1, 230-pound Martin played fullback and defensive end for Glenville this season, earning first team all-state honors on defense. A versatile prospect, he could play a few different positions in college, but will likely start out on the defensive side of the ball.
Martin's host on his official visit over the weekend was freshman linebacker Bruce Davis, who is one of four Glenville players on Iowa's current roster. That familiarity, along with a good first impression, helped the Hawkeyes win out over scholarship offers from Wisconsin and West Virginia.
