Rivals250 to watch defensive end Lavunce Askew of Camden (Ark.) Fairview has received two new scholarship offers this week. One came from a Big 12 program and the other from one of Conference USA's best teams.

"Recruiting is going great," he said. "I got offers from Texas Tech yesterday and Tulsa today."

The 6-foot-2, 250-pounder doesn't know very much about the Red Raiders, but is interested.

"I know that they recruited a great quarterback last year, so they must not be a bad team," he said.

He likes Tulsa's sterling academic reputation.
