Junior Day a resounding success
Texas A&M's 2008 recruiting strategy was to hit early, hit hard and hit as many prospects as possible.
Not only that, head coach Dennis Franchione and his staff put a premium on recruiting the talent rich areas closest to A&M including Houston and the Brazos Valley.
The plan paid off in spades as the Aggies secured six commitments as confirmed by Aggie Websider and one more unconfirmed commitment that we're still trying to verify. In addition, the Aggies put themselves in position to land several other big names out of the 2008 class.
Highlighting the list of commits are the Houston Yates duo of defensive end Damian Square and offensive lineman Leroy Chevalier. Square is one of top prospects in the state with 16 sacks last year and Chevalier may be one of the highest ranked offensive linemen in the Greater Houston area. Square already has an offer from Texas.
