Cook: 'The whole offense was clicking'
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Sophomore quarterback Connor Cook bounced back from an inaccurate day against Purdue with his most accurate passing performance as a Spartan.
Cook completed 15 of 16 passes for 208 yards with three touchdowns in three quarters of work during a 42-3 win at Illinois that kept Michigan State in first-place in the Legends Division.
"Coming off the performance that I had last week, obviously I was upset," said Cook, who set a Michigan State record for passing efficiency against Illinois. "I really focused on things that I needed to get better in practice."
Cook gave credit to Michigan State's running game for much of his success throwing the ball.
"The run helped out a lot with play action passes opening up the pass game," said Cook. "We were able to run the ball so well on them."
