EAST LANSING - No. 17 Michigan State kicked off a grueling stretch of games against conference contenders with a 59-56 victory over No. 11 Ohio State at the Breslin Center on Saturday.

The Spartans moved into first place in the Big Ten with the win.

Tom Izzo must now take his team on the road for a pair of games against Wisconsin and Indiana in the week ahead.
