Paul Konyndyk
SpartanMag.com EAST LANSING - Saturday's game against Texas was a fitting way to close out the non-conference schedule for Michigan State.
The Spartans faced a well-coached ballclub with quality athletes in a contest that featured the physicality that Michigan State will see on a game-to-game basis in Big Ten play.
The non-conference finale also served as a breakout game for senior center Derrick Nix, whose career high 25 points and 11 rebounds paced Michigan State in the 67-56 victory over Texas.
